Semi is built to run entirely on your device. It does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data, and it has no analytics, no tracking, and no accounts.
To summarize, translate, answer questions about, and navigate the page you are viewing, Semi reads the text and structure of that page. This happens locally in your browser. Page content is sent only to an AI model running on your own machine and is never uploaded to any server.
If you start a voice conversation, Semi captures audio from your microphone and transcribes it with a speech model running locally in your browser. Audio is processed on your device and is not recorded, saved, or sent anywhere.
Semi uses your browser's local storage to remember your preferences, such as the chosen model, voice, and the character's position on screen. This stays on your device and is never transmitted.
The only network requests Semi makes are to download the AI model files you choose, one time, from their public model hosts (for example the Hugging Face or MLC model CDNs). These are model weights (data), cached by your browser for reuse. No page content, audio, or personal data is ever included in these requests.
In short: model files come down once. Nothing about you or your pages goes up.
Semi does not sell data, does not share data with third parties, and does not use any data for advertising or unrelated purposes. There is no data to share, because nothing leaves your device.
